Effects in Poultry and Swine
Poultry
Nutrafito (Quillaja saponaria) and Nutrafito Plus (Mixture of Quillaja saponaria & Yucca schidigera), improve intestinal health, nutrient absorption and intestinal integrity. Several studies have been developed in broilers either, in controlled conditions and at commercial scale, in the United States, Southern Poultry Research – Athens, GA (2012), Texas A & M University (2005), Mississippi State University (2005), Mexico (2003), Brazil (2002), others (2012-2018), demonstrating that oral supplementation of Nutrafito Plus improves growth and feed efficiency (FCR), similar to that achieved with antibiotic (AGP) and non-antibiotic growth promoters (probiotics, prebiotics, etc).
On the other hand, Quillaja (Nutrafito) and Quillaja & Yucca blend (Nutrafito Plus), can be added to bird diets, to modulate the innate and adaptive immune response, increase resistance against pathogens, particularly Salmonella in chickens (Toro et al, 2001), and improve the efficiency of broiler vaccine programs like Newcastle (Araujo et al, 2013 – USP-DNP- Brazil).
Swine
In pigs, the oral administration of Nutrafito and Nutrafito Plus, improves the productive performance and the immune status (IgA, IgG, Interferon gamma) of pigs at day 20 post weaning (Ilsley et al, 2005; Václavková et al, 2008; P. Assavacheep, et al, 2015 – Chulalongkorn University, Thailand). In pregnant sows, the oral addition of Nutrafito Plus, improves the colostrum IgA at farrowing, the body weight of newborn piglets (Ilsley et al, 2005), and reduces the stillbirths.
